Reviews
Nature photographer Art Wolfe is rightly celebrated for his superb body of work. In 2004's "Alaska Wild", he turns his camera lense on Alaska, with excellent results. The photographs in "Alaska Wild" are divided into four geographic groupings: Southeast Alaska, South Central Alasak, the Interior (mostly Denali National Park), and Southwest Alaska. The photographs are a fascinating combination of landscapes, seascapes, glaciers, animals, and some unique closeups. The quality of the photography is uniformly superb and nicely representative of Alaska. The text is limited to a brief introduction, concise identification of each photo, and a brief bio of the author at the end. This reviewer's only complaint is that the book is paperback-sized, an unhappily small presentation of the pictures."Alaska Wild" is highly recommended to the would-be visitor to Alaska as a taste of things to come, or to the departing visitor, as a very nice souvenir.
